About POTY Initiative
The POTY Initiatives, led by Taopheek Babayeju, 2024 PMI Person of the Year, are a transformative series of programs designed to advance inclusivity, professional growth, and positive community impact in the project management field. These initiatives are designed to tackle barriers that many project professionals, especially from underserved communities, face in accessing training, certification, mentorship, and development resources.
What Are The POTY Initiatives?

#Project1500 offers free, comprehensive training for 1,500 individuals, focusing on Project Management, Agile methodologies, and Digital Transformation courses that promote economic growth and career development. Each participant will receive market-relevant training in project management, agile methodologies, and digital transformation.
Registration starts in January 2025.
Tosin Agbetusin Certification Grant
The Tosin Agbetusin Certification Grant honors the legacy of the late Mr. Tosin Agbetusin—the first PgMP holder in Nigeria and a passionate advocate for lifelong learning who shared knowledge selflessly even in his final days. This grant provides underserved professionals with the financial support needed to achieve new career milestones.
This grant covers certification exam fees for individuals from underserved communities, helping them access industry-recognized credentials without financial barriers. A dedicated board will oversee the grant donation, eligibility, and selection process, ensuring the most deserving candidates receive support in their career advancement.

PMI Chapter Tour: Meet and Greet with the PMI Person of the Year
The 2024 PMI Person of the Year, Taopheek Babayeju, is committed to giving back to PMI Communities through the PMI Chapter-organized event to meet and connect with him (in person or virtually). PMI Chapter members will draw from his wealth of knowledge and experience in the field.
Interested PMI Chapters should fill out this form on or before the 15th of December.
